Harbor Night of Lights

December 10, 2016

Pillar Point Harbor

We hosted a table full of family fun activites again this year at the Pillar Point Harbor’s 27th annual Lighted Boat Festival on December 10, 2016. We have collaborated with one of the local establishments, Ketch Joanne’s Restaurant, to host a table. The evening will consist of Christmas Ornament making, Face Painting and a Raffle. For our raffle items we will have a beatiful handmade Mosaic and Beachwood art and also a basket full of hair care prodcuts. It is a great way to introduce ourselves to the community, ask and answer questions, and network with existing friends and families.

The evening started off with a short meditation leading into the meditative drawing, then ending with a second
meditation and a group reflection.

  • Meditation is the art of looking inside and discovering one’s own inner being. Meditation leads us not only to new inner experiences, but helps us to transform our day-to-day life into a better, more meaningful and more fulfilling existence.

  • Meditative drawing promotes focused concentration through kinesthetic movement, thus creating space in your mind and body.

  • Zentangle style drawing is done one stroke at a time but the end results are magical. While the finished designs may appear complicated, the steps behind each pattern are simple.

Seeking Refuge

June 20, 2016

6:00 - 7:30pm

337 Mirada Road

Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

CGRC has collaborated again with and the United Nations, this time to help spread the word about World Refuge Day. An opportunity for inclusion, compassion, and ultimately creating a context for people to unite instead of divide. While the global crisis of refugees is a geopolitical issue, we all have the power to give refuge - to create a place of physical amd emotional safety where we can nourish one another, to create a space to support, and care for fellow humans. In honor of this day, we invite our community to an emotional intelligence dialogue session called "Seeking Refuge"- to practice emotional intelligence skills and discuss important questions about compassion, ethics, and how we can build a better community in these rapidly changing times.
